Volunteering

we need you

Croydon & District Obedience Dog Club is entirely run by unpaid volunteers, and without their help and commitment it would be impossible to provide our excellent services to our members and the community.

There are many ways in which you are able to assist at club, whether it be a weekly, monthly or intermittent commitment.

INSTRUCTING
Croydon Dog Club prides itself in being at the forefront of positive reinforcement techniques. Instructors are trained “in house” in the latest training methods. Instructor training is an 11 week course, covering in detail both theoretical and practical aspects of being an instructor, and is run in conjunction with  “on the ground” mentoring from experienced instructors. We provide you with all the tools necessary to be able to take a class of your own and have a strong support network to assist you when necessary.

Would you like to contribute to the running of the club? CDODC committee is elected annually at the club’s AGM – usually the last Friday in May. Committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, except December. Download the Committee Nomination Form. (Nominations close on the last Tuesday in April).

OFFICE/ADMINISTRATION
The office could always use an extra helping hand, especially during peak enrolment/renewal times.

BBQ / KIOSK / EQUIPMENT SHOP
Volunteers are always welcome to help out in these areas and no previous experience is necessary.

TRADES & PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
Tradies would be able to assist in building or equipment maintenance.
Do you specialise in a service that the club may need?

If you would like more information on becoming a volunteer, you can contact us, or enquire at the office on Sunday morning.
